Expanded Access. New Technology. Personal Service. Regions Bank Opening New Harriman Location

Grand Opening on June 2 to highlight new facility and expanded services.

HARRIMAN, Tenn. – Regions Bank on Tuesday cut the ribbon to celebrate the official opening of a modern location designed to serve the people and businesses of Roane County. The public is invited to a grand opening celebration at the new branch in Harriman on June 2, when the bank’s new features and personal services will be on full display.

“Regions Bank is committed to Roane County, and we are excited to offer new services here that make a visit to the bank more convenient and more meaningful,” said Mark Wittschen, Consumer Banking Manager for Regions in East Tennessee. “As always, our branch is staffed with dedicated, local professionals who help our clients reach their personal financial goals. And this is now one of the first Regions locations in East Tennessee to offer Regions Video Banking, which expands personal service to evenings, weekends and holidays. The result is a branch that’s better suited to meet the needs of today’s customers, while maintaining the local expertise and personal services that help set Regions apart.”

The branch at 2018 Roane State Highway is part of the Pinnacle Point shopping center near Interstate 40. The location replaces two older Regions branches in Harriman and Kingston. The new location allows Regions to blend personal service with a more modern layout and more convenient technology.

Congressman Chuck Fleischmann of Tennessee’s Third District recognized Regions for building on its investments in Roane County through a brand-new facility that maintains the company’s banking jobs in the area while offering an accessible location to surrounding communities.

“This is an exciting time for Roane County and the great folks at Regions Bank,” Rep. Fleischmann said. “The Roane County Regions Bank will provide jobs and steady wages for the community, while also showcasing new technology and additional credit opportunities for residents, allowing for increased access to resources that benefit local small businesses. From jobs to economic development, this new branch is a win for the people of Roane County and a win for Tennessee’s Third District.”

The branch is staffed with 10 Regions professionals who moved with the company from the older branches to the new location. In addition to helping customers with general transactions, Regions bankers are also focused on offering more in-depth conversations to help meet customers’ needs.

Branch Manager Angela Dougal serves on the Roane County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She discussed the more personalized approach to service that Regions bankers are offering at the new Harriman location.

“We are taking the time to listen to people and offer advice that’s custom-tailored to individual needs,” Dougal said. “If you want help creating a savings plan, or if you need to talk to someone about a major purchase or a long-term financial goal, we have the experience to help.”

In addition to speaking with the branch’s on-site professionals, customers can choose personal service through Regions Video Banking in the branch’s drive-through. This is only the second Regions branch in all of East Tennessee to offer this feature.

Regions Bank branch associates
The new branch provides a modern, convenient location for Regions’ local team to serve individuals and small businesses in Roane County.

Regions Video Banking connects customers with a Regions representative via live, two-way video during extended hours. Along with processing most teller transactions, Regions Video Bankers can help customers with account maintenance, general inquiries and more, during a set of extended hours.

Video Bankers are available from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. ET on weekdays. They are also available from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturdays, noon-6 p.m. on Sundays and from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on most holidays. A demonstration of Regions Video Banking is available here.

Even outside of Video Bankers’ expanded hours, the branch’s ATMs can always function as DepositSmart ATMs. In addition to dispensing cash and providing account information, DepositSmart ATMs can accept deposits of cash or checks at any time, day or night. They can also cash checks around the clock, providing another quick, convenient option for Regions customers.

While the branch is now open for business, Regions is inviting the community to a grand opening celebration on Saturday, June 2 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The branch team will provide overviews of the location’s features while the Shipwreck Ice Cream Company will be on-site to offer free food and desserts. There will be an Amazon Echo Dot giveaway, a Regions LifeGreen bicycle giveaway, and Regions’ huge “Big Green Bike” will be on-hand as well. Regions will also host children’s activities.

“We are excited to offer this new location, and we invite the public to take a closer look at what Regions is offering in Roane County,” said Melanie Blank, Consumer Banking Executive for Regions. “Certainly, we see growth in online and mobile banking, and we’re constantly investing in technology. But we find that people still prefer to use local branches in addition to our digital services. This branch is a great example of how Regions is staying focused on local, personal service while offering the latest technology and features our customers want.”
