VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. – Dec. 5, 2018 – Regions Bank on Wednesday cut the ribbon and formally opened the company’s latest branch in metro Birmingham that is built from the ground up to offer a unique blend of customized personal service and updated technology.

“From the design of the facility, to the expertise of our local bankers and more convenient technology, this location represents the future of branch banking,” said Alan Register, Birmingham Market Executive for Regions.

“We are working every day to make banking easier, more convenient and more meaningful. Our bankers are focused on having deeper conversations with people to help them reach their financial goals. We’re also expanding services such as Regions Video Banking, so when a customer needs quick, efficient service early in the morning, in the evening, or even on Saturday or Sunday, this branch will connect them with a local banker who can meet their needs.”

Participants from the nonprofit Exceptional Foundation, which serves people with special needs, provided caroling as the branch opened for business.

The open design of the branch at 529 Montgomery Hwy. does not include a traditional teller line. Instead of waiting to be called to a counter, when people walk into the branch, they are greeted face-to-face by an experienced Regions banker. In addition to helping people with general transactions, each banker at the Vestavia Hills office can help customers with in-depth needs, such as planning budgets, analyzing financial options and creating a personalized roadmap designed to help people accomplish their financial goals.

The branch also becomes part of a growing number of locations offering Regions Video Banking. In addition to standard ATM services, Video Banking ATMs allow customers to choose to connect with a Regions Video Banker via live, two-way video. Along with processing most general transactions, Regions Video Bankers help customers with account maintenance and general inquiries during expanded hours.

Regions Video Bankers are available on weekdays from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. CT. They are also available on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and during most holidays.

The branch includes two Video Banking ATMs in its drive-through and two more in the entryway of the building. The entryway is accessible after-hours by scanning a debit or credit card with a magnetic stripe for access.

Even outside of Video Bankers’ expanded hours, the branch’s ATMs can always function as DepositSmart ATMs. In addition to dispensing cash and providing account information, DepositSmart ATMs can receive deposits of cash or checks for customers at any time, day or night. The ATMs can also cash checks around the clock.

Regions is inviting the community to celebrate the branch’s opening during a customer appreciation day on Friday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Giveaways will take place while supplies last, and people can register to win a Regions LifeGreen bicycle and helmet. Branch personnel will also provide tours of the facility and overviews of its new features.

The branch replaces two older Regions facilities that previously served customers along Montgomery Hwy.

The branch was built at the site of a previous Regions facility at 529 Montgomery Hwy.
