Miner and Peña are part of a team of Regions leaders who will leverage their local experience and market insights to expand Regions’ client base throughout Central Indiana while also taking a strategic, proactive role in addressing needs affecting the broader community.

As Market Executive, Miner will work with colleagues and community members to identify opportunities for the bank to make a meaningful difference through volunteer service, nonprofit support, delivering financial education, and more. Miner will also continue serving as Commercial Banking Leader guiding teams that deliver customized financial solutions for large companies and major employers.

“Regions Bank is focused on working closely with local customers and listening to the needs of our communities as we deliver financial services and community support that are designed to make a valuable difference in Indianapolis and beyond,” said John Turner, Regions President and CEO. “Erik’s expertise, combined with the experience of our entire Indianapolis leadership team, will help Regions further strengthen its focus on this vibrant area. Over time, his responsibilities have grown to include expansion of the bank’s Commercial banking reach within the Chicago market. Before joining Regions, Miner spent 16 years in Commercial Banking roles for Fifth Third Bank.

Peña will work with Miner in developing strategies that will guide the bank and its local workforce in the fulfillment of Regions’ mission to make life better for the customers and communities served by the bank. Peña joined Regions in 2009 as a branch manager in Indianapolis and led Consumer Banking teams in delivering a wide range of financial services.

Since 2013, Peña has served as Financial Wellness Relationship Manager. In this role, Peña has coached and provided leadership training to more than 40 Regions branch managers and teams in terms of integrating financial education into how they serve customers. Prior to joining Regions, Peña spent seven years in risk-management and branch-management roles for Fifth Third.

“Schiela has a clear commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of the people we serve – and in the places we call home,” said Brett Shaffer, Corporate Community Relations Manager for Regions. “She understands the role of a bank in terms of helping people and communities prosper. Her financial services expereince, as well as the professional relationships she has developed across Indiana, will be a tremendous benefit to Regions, its customers and our fellow community members, as Schiela and our local leadership team develop proactive solutions to address community needs.”
