CHARLOTTE, N.C. – June 28, 2018 – Regions Bank on Thursday announced Terry Katon, Charlotte-based head of Capital Markets for the bank, as well as CEO of Regions Securities, has been appointed to serve as Charlotte Market Executive for Regions.

Katon and leaders from all of Regions’ business groups in Charlotte – including Consumer Banking, Corporate and Commercial Banking, and Private Wealth Management – will work collectively to leverage their local experience and market insights to expand Regions’ client base throughout the Queen City and beyond. Further, as Market Executive, Katon will work with colleagues and community leaders to identify opportunities for the bank and its associates to make a meaningful difference in response to community needs.

“Regions Bank is focused on working closely with local customers and listening to the needs of our communities as we deliver financial services and community support that are designed to make a valuable difference in Charlotte and surrounding areas,” said Grayson Hall, Regions Chairman and CEO. “Terry’s expertise, combined with the experience of our entire Charlotte leadership team, will help Regions further strengthen its focus on this vibrant area. We are committed to the success of our communities and to consistently developing new ways to serve.”

A veteran Charlotte banking executive, Katon joined Regions in 2009 as Managing Director and head of the bank’s Commercial Syndications business. In 2012, Katon was named head of origination for Regions’ broker-dealer subsidiary, Regions Securities LLC. He was named head of Capital Markets and CEO of Regions Securities in 2014 and will continue to serve in these capacities as he assumes the Market Executive role. Prior to joining Regions, Katon served for 12 years at Banc of America Securities and for seven years with Wachovia Capital Markets.

“Regions offers a comprehensive set of services, from individual banking to complex corporate financing, and our local leadership team, across all departments, is focused on delivering the capabilities of the entire bank for the benefit of the customers we serve,” Katon said. “If you are a Corporate Banking client, our Consumer Banking division stands ready to meet your personal banking needs. If you are a customer at one of our bank branches, our Private Wealth Management division is here to help you reach your investment goals. We deliver one comprehensive team of professionals who work across business lines to meet the needs of our clients.”

In addition to Katon, Regions’ Charlotte leadership team includes Amy Garnett, Consumer Banking Manager responsible for Regions’ branch-banking operations across North Carolina. Garnett and her team are also planning the launch of Regions’ newest bank branch, which will open at the base of the 615 South College building in Uptown in July. Garnett rejoined Regions in 2014 following successful tenures with Bank of North Carolina and First Citizens Bank. She previously worked for Regions from 2006 until 2010 and spent six years working for Bank of America beginning in 2000.

Further, the local leadership team includes Jeff Brinkman, Regions’ Commercial Banking Leader covering North Carolina.
