Regions Honors Bibiana Gomez with September Better Life Award

New U.S. citizen inspires others to pursue their American dream.

Regions’ September Better Life Award winner is one of our country’s newest citizens. Bibiana Gomez, a Colombia native, became a sworn American in June. That day capped off a 16-year journey she began as an international student at Jacksonville State University in Alabama, determined to become part of the fabric of the new place that was already home in her heart.

In 12 years at Regions, Gomez has risen from a Management Associate to branch leadership posts to her current role as a Commercial Banking Relationship Team Administrator. Along the way she established keen relationship management, fraud prevention and teller referral standards that are now best practices across the bank.

Gomez is a success story – a story she constantly shares with others, so they may visualize greatness in their future. She is a mentor for the Hispanic Professional Women’s Association (HPWA), a nonprofit organization devoted to enhancing the image of professional Hispanic women by sharing knowledge and promoting the value of higher education. Regions is donating $1,000 to HPWA on her behalf.
